"Rotoprone Bed"

Here is the picture of the Rotoprone bed. It's the bed that I learned about while in San Antonio. It looks scarey. The patient is all strapped in and well sedated of course. The bed totally rotates them so that they are face down to the floor. Helps re-expand those sick lungs of their's and mobilize their secretions. It can also be really scarey to the nurse if you don't know alot about the bed.

See, I said a whoppie cushion bed would be better. Much less scary & more fun. No, seriously, it looks a bit of a beast, but if it helps then, great stuff xXx

I love taking care of patients on Rotoprone beds. They're a challenge, and you feel like you've been physically beaten after 12 hours of packing and unpacking your patient, and taking care of them upside down. But, the advantages are awesome, and they really do save lives.
