Our bus driver was explaining the "Emily Morgan Hotel" to us and how it got the name. Legend has it that Emily Morgan was a mulatto slave who was in the tent with General Santa Anna the night the Texans charged the Mexican camp. Perhaps that is why the mexican army lost the battle that night?
